ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA. – Seven people, including six children, were hospitalized after a crash on I-20 in Rockdale County on Monday afternoon.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of an overturned vehicle on I-20 East just past Sigman Road at approximately 12:06 p.m. on Monday. The seven occupants in the vehicle included one adult and six children aged 11 and under. Four of the children were ejected from the vehicle upon impact. Deputies and citizens at the scene rendered first aid until EMS arrived to transport the injured to a local hospital for treatment.
The crash shut down all lanes of I-20 East while investigators worked to collect evidence at the scene. The sheriff’s office has not yet reported whether any other vehicles were involved in the crash.
