DECATUR, GA — A tractor trailer fire and a vehicle crash Tuesday morning were two separate incidents causing a traffic jam on Interstate 285 southbound near Decatur, according to Triple Team Traffic.

The tractor fire occurred on the outer loop of I-285 southbound near the Interstate 20 merge, and the vehicle crash impacted the right shoulder along the southbound lanes of I-285. The incidents were reported by Triple Team at 9:11 a.m.
Both incidents created a long traffic backup in Fulton County.
Morning commuters were advised to avoid the area and detour through Interstate 75 and 85 instead.
