ATLANTA, GA — Injuries were reported Tuesday morning after a serious collision involving three vehicles on Interstate 285 northbound in southwest Atlanta, according to 11Alive.

The incident occurred on a stretch of I-285 northbound approaching Arthur B. Langford Jr. Parkway near College Park and East Point and was first reported at 5:17 a.m.

No further information has yet been reported confirming the number of people injured in the crash, or the extent of their injuries.

The collision closed down much of the northbound highway and forced traffic to divert through one right lane for hours. Delays extended down to Camp Creek Parkway.

Traffic footage shared by Georgia Department of Transportation showed a flatbed truck accommodating one of the vehicles at around 5:40 a.m.

Morning commuters were advised to detour through Interstate 75 and 85 northbound heading downtown and re-enter Highway 166 back to I-285.
