GWINNETT COUNTY, GA. –  Authorities have released the identity of the man killed in a motorcycle accident in Gwinnett County earlier this month.

The victim was 28-year-old Austin Caldwell of Cumming. According to the Forsyth County News, the crash occurred at around 5:00 p.m. on May 6th. Caldwell was riding his motorcycle when he attempted to turn left onto Indian Trail Lilburn Road from Oakbrook Parkway. According to eyewitnesses, he veered into the lane next to him and struck a Toyota Camry. He then lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into a mail truck that had stopped at the intersection.

Caldwell was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities believe that speed was likely a factor in the crash.
