J.J. was stopped at a traffic light on Ivan Allen Jr. Boulevard in downtown Atlanta back in January of 2013. He was talking to his two friends in the car while waiting for the light to turn green. The car behind him thought the light had turned green (it hadn’t yet) and quickly accelerated. The rear car slammed into the back of J.J.’s Chrysler 300. J.J. was extremely tall at over 6′ 5″ and was twisted around talking to his friends when the impact occurred. This did not bode well.

After J.J. failed to get better, he had to undergo lower back surgery. This should never be the case for such a young person. Making matters worse, he had just moved to Atlanta and was working in a certified nursing assistant in a nursing home. His injuries meant he couldn’t work for over a year, which meant he went without income during the entire course of his case. We were able to get him medical care (including the surgery!) without health insurance and coordinate financial arrangements to keep a roof over his head and his bills paid while he recovered from his ordeal.

We were able to obtain a $381,000 settlement for J.J., which allowed him to pick back up his life and buy a new car. He returned home to the midwest and used the rest of his settlement money to start a real estate business. Nothing makes us happier than to see clients take their settlement and leverage up for a better life!

Awarded: $381,000
