MARIETTA, GA. – Authorities said a man being chased by police crashed his van into a creek in Cobb County, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.
According to police, the man had been in a fight with his girlfriend at her home and was driving back to the home when he was intercepted by officers early Friday morning.
The man took off at high speed in an attempt to get away and lost control at the intersection of East Lake Drive and New Kemp Road, authorities said. The van he was driving went down a steep embankment and then plunged into the creek.
The man was taken into custody and hospitalized with injuries described as non life-threatening. No Cobb County officers were injured in the incident.
