ATLANTA, GA – Multiple streets in downtown Atlanta have been shut down by officials as protests continue throughout the city.
The closures were initiated around 6:00 p.m. Thursday evening and are expected to continue through 8:00 p.m.
According to the AJC incident tracker, some of major closed off streets include Peachtree Street, Centennial Olympic Park Drive, Glen Iris Drive, and Marietta Street.
Officials recommend motorists avoid driving through downtown area, specifically Peach St. until the demonstrations yield for the night.
These road closures are a response to the ongoing protests against George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis police custody.
