Man found guilty of vehicular homicide in Newnan

NEWNAN, GA – A man has been convicted and sentenced in connection with a fatal crash in Coweta County last year, the Newnan Times-Herald reported.

The accident happened May 9, 2019 as 50-year-old David Todd Vincent was driving an F-250 truck on Poplar Road near Piedmont Newnan Hospital in Newnan. Prosecutors said Vincent was looking at his phone and ran a red light before crashing into a vehicle driven by Smitty Lee Hale. Hale died later from injuries suffered in the crash.

Vincent was found guilty of vehicular homicide and sentenced to 12 months probation, five days community service and the completion of traffic school.
