SANDY SPRING, GA – Police say 18 cars were involved in a crash that tied up traffic in Fulton County on Monday afternoon, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.
The accident happened on Interstate 285 eastbound just before New Northside Drive in Sandy Springs. All lanes of the highway were shut down for over two hours.
Police said no serious injuries were reported. It was not immediately clear what caused the wreck.
Drivers were warned to expect major slowdowns, and traffic was backed up to South Cobb Drive before the highway reopened by 6:15 p.m.
